Text Size

Throughout today, the New York Times has experimented several system failures. It is suspected that it was a hacker attack, and that could have come from Syria.

Through their Twitter account, the newspaper informed it's readers about the issues with their website and continued to report through the social networks.

Gawker, another news website pointed out that the attack could have been done by the Syrian Electronic Army. Matt Johansen, a cybernetic security expert warned that during the NYT website system failures, the electronic address directed to a domain that belongs to the Syrian army.

This is the second time the NYT website has had failures in the past 2 weeks, and if proven that the Syrian Army is responsible, it would be another achievement for them given that they've already hacked the New York Post and Associated Press.

In the past few minutes the Syrian Army launched a Twitter alert, this one regarding the new domain owner of the social network, the story regarding the conflict is currently developing.
