TIJUANA - Dario Benedetto arrived to Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles to be the goal scorer that the Xolos lost when Duvier Riascos left to join Pachuca. All signs seemed to point that Benedetto could have an extremely successful first season with the club when he netted his first personal and the first ever club Hat-Trick on the season opener against Atlas.

But ever since that first game it has all been dark days for the young Argentine. During the team's second game Benedetto finished injured, a muscle injury that would keep him away from the team for several weeks at a time. He made a come back but it only lasted 45 minutes before having to sit out another few weeks.

Just as Benedetto was starting to get back into the mix of things and playing consistent minutes while trying to find the rhythm of the team another injury has hit him. During the match in which Tijuana Xolos tied 0-0 against Cruz Azul Benedetto featured in the starting lineup but asked to be subbed out in the 11th minute of play.

"I don't know for sure what is wrong but it is most likely a torn muscle" said Benedetto in mix zone interviews following the match "I'm going to have some test done and hopefully it is not that serious, but I know my own body and I feel it is a torn muscle."

The 23 year old also added that he feels frustrated and disappointed missing some much playing time due to his injuries.

"I was brought in here for a reason. I came wanting to show everyone what I can do and it really is frustrating everything that has happened." Concluded Dario Benedetto.
