The 9th edition of the biggest artistic event in Northwest Mexico, “Entijuanarte” is about to arrive at the city of Tijuana starting September 29 until October 6.
The details of the festival were explained this week by the organizers of the event, Cecilia Ochoa and Julio Rodriguez, in the offices of the Tourism and Convention Committee (COTUCO).
After promoting art and culture in Baja California for almost 10 years, “Entijuanarte” has had proliferated growth when it comes to exposing artists and creators to the different audiences, generating a new perspective of cultural activities, achieving a concurrent public of around 85,000 people during the festivals activities which have been held in different locations as well as the Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT) plaza.
Presenting as the 9th edition's guest of honor will be the State of Durango, “Entijuanarte” created a very complete and dynamic program which will include samples of Cinema; the presentation of the collection by Guillermo Cisneros; a painting exposition by Manuel and German Valles; an engraving exhibition by artist Antonio Ruiz; Musical-theater “Touristic Kicham”; Book Presentations, shops and an educative program about cultural professionalization and management.
Starting on Thursday September 26 in several sites, “Entijuanarte” will culminate it's activities in the CECUT plaza during the 4th, 5th, and 6th of October were they will focus around 250 artists, collectives and organizations which will exhibit their work with concerts by Nationally renowned artists.
Starting the day with bands that burst with creativity and inject energy into the local audiences, the bands Slares, Ramona, Teenage Fiction, Roxana and Klandestino will provide the perfect dose of rhythm to event goers at the festival during the closing days.
With the main stage opening on Friday October 4th, the group Federico Barragan Jazz trio from the State of Durango will open the event with their original and fresh jazz styles, and will close with the band La Rumorosa, who will represent the vernacular Mexican Melodies.
Also Introducing the public in the new wave of alternative pop music, Singer/songwriter Vanessa Zamora will be debuting her record “Hasta la Fantasia” on October 5th, although her musical career is still young, Zamora has already been an opening act for artists like Carla Morrison, Andrew Bird, Among other national bands.
