San Diego Chargers will honor Tijuana's Little League Baseball team

They'll also have various other events for Hispanic Heritage Month.

SAN DIEGO - As part of the Hispanic Heritage Month the San Diego Chargers will be honoring the Tijuana little league baseball team Tijuana Municipal who represented all of Mexico in last month's Little League World Series; tournament that they finished in 3rd place right behind their "neighbors" Chula Vista and tournament champions Japan.

The honoring of the kids will take place at Qualcomm Stadium during next Sunday's week 4 match against the Dallas Cowboys.

The San Diego Chargers will also be honoring Lidia Martinez, Manager, Corporate Community Affairs for Southwest Airlines. The NFL chooses one recipient of this award in each of it's 32 franchise cities. Martinez was chosen because of her active involvement in the hispanic community where she sits on various boards of charities and organizations.

As part of the recognition the NFL will donate $2,000 which will be matched by Marriott's Courtyard for a total of $4,000 which will be donated on behave of MArtinez to the charity of her choosing. She has selected MANA and organization where she is the chair of the board, and which helps empower latina girls nationwide.

Mariachi Real de San Deigo will also be present to play during the halftime break as well as traditional folklórico ballet dancers.
