Monster Truck accident leaves 8 dead in Chihuahua

67 people were wounded in the incident

The number of deaths caused by a "Monster Truck" accident which crashed against event goers in a show in the city of Chihuahua ascended to 8, while also leaving a toll of 67 wounded.

The Source of Social Communication from the Chihuahua Mayors office, indicated that 8 people died because of the accident, and authorities are keeping a close watch of those who were wounded.

The accident occurred last night at the Extreme Aero show Festival, an event which lasts 3 days with several exhibitions, airplanes, hot air balloons, motorcycle racing, and Monster Trucks, among others.

The accident happened when the driver of a monster truck with 1.5 meter high wheels was driving over several cars, ready to be converted into scrap metal, lost control and impacted the spectators.

According to the report, among those who died there were 4 minors. The remaining 67 wounded are currently being tended to in different hospitals through out the city.
