TIJUANA - Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles will be traveling to Texas for the 1st time in their history and will face Santos Laguna on Sunday October 13 in the Toyota Field of San Antonio.

This was informed by the promoter of the event which will be a double feature for soccer lovers to enjoy since the local Scorpions FC will face Edmonton of Canada before Santos and Xolos kickoff.

This weekend domestic leagues around the world go on break to allow the FIFA International date to be played where the final two World Cup qualifying rounds will be played. The Xolos will take advantage to give some playing time to those players who have not had that much opportunity so far and for those coming back from injury and need a little more touches of the ball during game play.

The Xoloitzcuintles has played friendly matches in the United States before playing in the San Diego Clasico against Los Angeles Galaxy, Chivas USA of MLS and lower division America teams like Indio and Palm Springs. But this will be their first venture into the Texan hispanic market.

The Scorpions vs Edmonton match will be played at 1:30PM local time (11:30AM pacific time) while the Xolos vs Santos will kick off at 4:00PM local time (2:00PM pacific). The game will be shown on Azteca America in the United States.
