Tijuana prepares TEDxZonaRio in CECUT

"Making the future ours" will be held next October 12 and 13

Ideas, proposals, projects or actions from concerned citizens who wish to make our world a better place to live in, is what they will share in the first edition of "TEDxZonaRio", an event which will share ideas through conferences and artistic performances.

Organized by professionals and students from Tijuana and thought of to achieve an effective connection and debate between the audience and those presenting the ideas, TEDxZonaRio will be held on October 13, at the Multimedia hall in the Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT) where 10 experienced speakers will share their proposals, as well as having 3 taped conferences from TEDTalks. The day before, on October 12, 100 young men and women below the age of 25 will have the opportunity to join TEDJoven@ZonaRio, where they will hold conferences by 5 live speakers and 2 recorded conferences from TEDxTalks which have one single purpose in mind: to spread constructive ideas.

TED conferences have traveled around the globe, visiting some of the most important cities in the world, promoting tools for education, and serving as an inspiration for those who have ideas for a better present and future.

Among those who will be holding the conferences at TEDxZonaRio is Miguel Angel Reynaga, founder of the project NAZGA, created to promote local art and encourage reading in some of the most vulnerable areas of the city of Tijuana. Mauricio Pando, nutritionist and lecturer from Mexico City will speak about his work where he emphasizes an effective and integral human growth.

The event's slogan is "Making the future, ours", and will be held Saturday October 12 with TEDJoven@ZonaRio, and Sunday October 13 with the stellar conferences in TEDxZonaRio at the Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT).
