SAN DIEGO - With the idea of reaching even more American fans it was announced that Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles will face Club America in the “LA Clasico” on December 28 at the StubHub Center.
This “LA Clasico” is being put together by the same organizers that have successfully carried out the San Diego Clasico with the participation of teams like England’s Portsmouth, LA Galaxy, and Chivas USA of the MLS, as well as Club America and Tijuana Xolos of the Liga Bancomer MX.
The idea is that the event is held in Los Angeles, CA in the winter while San Diego hosts during the summer so that all of Southern California gets to enjoy the quality international matches.
Information on a time or ticket prices is still not available, but it is expected that anytime soon that information will be released. Xolos faced America a few months ago in the San Diego Clasico; game that Tijuana won by a score of 5-2.
This will be the Xoloitzcuintles’ second trip to Los Angeles after having visited the then called Home Depot Center last year with a squad full of youngsters since the first team had Copa Libertadores duties. The young Xolos ended up taking a huge loss to the LA Galaxy in that game.
