TIJUANA - Against all odds the Los Angeles Galaxy will be Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles' rival in the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champion's League (CCL).

The LA squad could have gone through as the top seed of the group winners but following their big 4-0 loss to El Salvador's Isidro Metapan in combination with Houston Dynamo's loss left the Galaxy as the next rival of the Xolos.

Tijuana Xolos finished as the 3rd seed in the list of group winners; winning 10 points from three victories and one draw. The Xoloitzcuintles scored 10 goals and only received two goals. Galaxy on the other hand dropped to the 6th seed with 9 points, they won three and lost one.

The winner from this tie will advance to the semifinals where they will meet the winner from the Sporting Kansas City vs Cruz Azul match.

The other quarterfinals matches will be Alajuelense from Costa Rica vs Arabe Unido from Panama and San Jose Earthquakes vs Toluca.

The quarterfinals will be played between March 11 - March 18 of 2014.

Club Tijuana and LA Galaxy have faced each other twice in friendly games, the first one was won bu the Mexican side by a score of 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out. The second was won by the MLS team by a score of 6-2 against a youth Xolos squad. This will be their first official match.
