TIJUANA - The Mexican National Team arrived on Monday afternoon to the Tijuana International Airport where interim manager Miguel Herrera held a press conference upon arrival. Mexico will have their only preparation game before the crucial World Cup playoff series with New Zealand this Wednesday night at the Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.

He was questioned about various foreign born naturalized players like recently called up Antonio Naelson "Sinha", Lucas Lobos and even Tijuana Xolos' Javier Gandolfi. The on "National Team Duty Leave" Club America manager was questioned about his decision to include a 37 year old veteran like "Sinha". Herrera was clear in that the Brazilian born Toluca player his playing a high level of football at this precise moment.

"He is a huge part of the success 'Pepe' (Jose) Cardozo is having at Toluca" said "Piojo" Herrera "His age does not concern me, he is in good form now and I'm not really thinking about the future." Despite the manager's praises "Sinha" will not be in the starting lineup for Herrera on Wednesday night. "Let me be clear, just like I was clear with him; he is only here because the player I was contemplating lucas Lobos had a family emergency and can not be with us."

Since Miguel Herrera is clearly open to naturalized players being part of his Mexico squad, he was questioned about the possibility of considering Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles captain Javier Gandolfi who just last week received his Mexican citizenship. Herrera had a short and resounding one word answer "No."

Since joining Mexico City giants Club America team which he has lead to two league semifinals, a cup semifinal, and most importantly a league championship; Herrera has usually revealed his starting lineups to the press days before matches. But for Wednesday night's game he still has a few details to work out.

"I still have one doubt over one position. But most likely tomorrow (Tuesday) after practice I can tell you guys what will be the starting lineup for Wednesday." concluded Mexican National Team manager Miguel Herrera.
