TIJUANA - Thanks to the big 4-1 win on Friday night over Atlante at the Estadio Caliente and the combination of results this weekend, Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles will go into the final matchday of the regular season with possibilities of making the playoffs.
In order to achieve this miracle entrance the Xolos must do something they have not done yet this season; win on the road in their match next Saturday against Leon. Three tickets are still up for grabs and both Xolos and Tigres will be fighting to take those places away from Queretaro, Morelia, and Jaguares.
THE MATCHUPS:
Morelia vs Puebla
Atlante vs Chiapas
Pachuca vs Queretaro
Leon vs Xolos
Atlas vs Tigres
The steps:
1- Club Tijuana must win against Leon. Without this nothing else matters.
2- The easiest combination for Xolos to enter the playoffs is to have both Queretaro and Tigres NOT win their games.
3- If Tigres wins they will reach 25 points and be out of the Xolos reach, same situation with Chiapas. Tijuana will then need Morelia to lose their match and that way pass them on goal differential eliminating the Michoacan side. For this scenario to work, Queretaro can not win their game.
4- The dream scenario would be for Tigres, Morelia, and Queretaro to all lose their matches and have Xolos go through as the 7th place team while Morelia would fall to 8th leaving Tigres and Queretaro outside.
