TIJUANA - Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles are working on the natural grass field preparing for their next match against Leon in which they will have to win in order to have any hopes of making the playoffs. Cristian Pellerano recognized that they did not plan to be in this situation, since the beginning of the season it was planned to already have the playoff ticket by this stage.

"We had it plan to already be qualified, we've suffered some ups and downs all season long and that is what has us in this situation. Now we have to go and try and win at least one game on the road against a difficult opponent. But nothing is impossible and we are concentrated in that." Commented Pellerano

Leon is a team in which the Xolos have struggled with. Since their promotion to first division Tijuana are yet to defeat the 'panzas verdes' in their home ground. Since Leon has promoted a little less than a year ago Xolos have fallen 4-0 and 2-0 in Guanajuato.

"They (Leon) have good control of the ball. They have a set style of play and they don't waiver away from that, they have been playing at a high level for years now. We will go in there in search of all three points." said the Tijuana midfielder.

The absence of Fernando Arce could be something big against the Xolos, but Pellerano is not worried as he has confidence in his teammates.

"Who ever steps into his position, I'm sure will do it fine and make sure the absence is not felt. Fernando (Arce) is an important player for us, but the younger players are ready." Explained Pellerano.

The U-17

This morning the Mexican U-17 team defeated Argentina's U-17 team in the FIFA U-17 World Cup semifinal and it was impossible to avoid the subject with the Argentine midfielder.

"Argentine football is living a complicated time at the moment. In Argentina the youngsters are being rushed to make their professional debuts. Here in Mexico there is more of a process that the young players go through." Said Cristian Pellerano.
