TIJUANA - Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles players continue their preseason preparations in Mazatlan Sinaloa; and the team directors continue on making the team stronger. This week the Tijuana Xolos have confirmed Ecuadorian Jaime Javier Ayoví as well as Argentine Hernán Pellerano.
Ayoví had already signed for Xolos six months ago but has been on a loan with Liga Deportivo Quito and will now come back to Mexico where he will have his third stint at a Mexican club. Ayoví has previously played with Toluca and Pachuca.
The second signing the Xolos have made is central defender Hernán Pellerano who is coming from Unión Deportiva Almería in Spain. Pellerano is current Xolos defensive midfielder Cristian Pellerano's brother and asked his club to transfer him to Tijuana so that he might play side by side with his sibling.
The signing of Pellerano almost confirms the rumors that Paraguayan central defender Pablo Cesar Aguilar will be leaving the club to join former Tijuana Xolos manager Antonio Mohamed at Club América.
Each team in the Mexican league are allowed five foreigners on their roster. Players born outside of Mexico but who are naturalized or have double citizenship do not count towards the five foreign spots. Tijuana Xolos' five foreigners this upcoming season would be: Hernán Pellerano, Cristian Pellerano, Fidel Martínez, Darío Benedetto, and Jaime Ayoví.
