Beer of the Week: "Black Rye Ipa" from Benton Brewery

A unique taste to look forward to this weekend

We've been gone for a while but now we're back with a new beer of the week, partially because I have been away learning a bit more about making craft-beer with the team over at Benton Brewery, definitely a very illuminating experience.

During that time, I was able to see how master brewer Karim Gama created his now famous Black Rye Ipa, a brew that you won't want to miss at tomorrow's craft-beer festival at the La Plaza in Tijuana.

The Black Rye Ipa has a very dark color, like its name suggests. A fulled-bodied beer that leaves you with a toasted malt taste on the mouth, and rye, wheat and a dosage of hops that perfectly clashes with other flavors. It's undoubtedly one of the more complex beers I've had the pleasure to enjoy from local brewers in Tijuana, so don't pass up on the opportunity and go have a taste!

You currently can find the Black Rye Ipa at the 1994 Bar, Beer box, El Tigre,La Tasquita and El Pub de la Uni in Tijuana; and of course at tomorrow's La Plaza Craft-Beer Festival.
