Tijuana Xolos midfielder Joe Corona named to USMNT Preliminary 30-man roster

Corona looking make final 23-man roster.

TIJUANA - Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles midfielder Joe Corona has his World Cup still alive after being named by manager Jurgen Klinsmann to the United States Men’s National Team’s 30-man preliminary roster.

Corona and the other 29 players will report to training camp in Palo Alto, Calif starting on Wednesday May 14th. Klinsmann will have to make seven cuts to the squad before June 2nd and present the final 23-man World Cup roster to FIFA.

Tijuana Xolos left back Edgar Castillo just missed out on the squad. Klinsmann did mention in his teleconference that Castillo was one of the toughest cuts he had to make since the New Mexico native had been part of the team for a long time now.
