Last weekend, the 2014 Beer Fest took place in Tijuana and tons of local breweries were there to showcase the best of their selections. This means we will have plenty to write about during the coming weeks.
When I arrived at the Fest, Cerveza Zombie was barely getting set up, so I worked up my thirst appetite for half an hour while they set everything up and speak with other stands that were setting up nearby. When I finally got to try, Zombie's beer, which I was highly anticipating after I first tried them out at The Plaza's Second Annual Beer Tasting Event, I was not let down. I am so glad I got to try out their Red IP, which was honestly the best tasting of the night.
The first thing I felt when trying out the Red IPA was refreshment. This ruby-red colored beer has citric smells and fruity hops. Definitely a "summer beer" with a medium body and taste, a great aftertaste and dry ending. It clearly has a Californian influence in all regards, but also has a sour Ensenada beer taste which is a plus.
