The reported Neo-Nazi group, the Nationalist Mexican Workers' Movement's, came to light as a group comprised of aspiring militant PAN members that professed admiration of the German dictator, Adolf Hitler, and included Juan Barrera Espinoza. He has now cut ties with the PAN party and has released a statement clarifying his political posture.

In this statement, which he published via Facebook, he indicated that his position as a youth leader for PAN groups, and mock student legislative activities did not make him part of the formal structure of the party, and he has separated himself from that affiliation. He also indicated that he has never "received teachings that threaten lives or that instigate lack of tolerance towards other" from PAN. He also manifested his disapproval toward anti semitic hatred.

He goes on to say that he has always been inclined toward humanist ideologies, "which is why he decided to join PAN" and he believes that a Social Market Economy should exist, "which is something that is in line with ideals supported by the Nazi Party prior to them committing crimes against humanity, which I reiterate I am totally against."

"I am profoundly sorry that certain actions may be considered fascist, and I want to clarify that neither my intent nor the intent of any others in the group was to promote Neo-Nazi ideologies".
