MÉXICO.- Another edition of the Copa MX will kick off on Tuesday with seven matches. The first week of the group stage will continue on Wednesday with another seven matches.
The Cup competition is split into the group stage and knockouts. There are seven groups of four teams from Mexico's Liga MX (first division) and Ascenso MX (second division). All group winners plus the best runner-up will all qualify to the quarterfinals of the competition.
Once again the alternate point system will be in place for the Copa MX. Each team will play a home/away series against the other three group rivals. Each match will award the standard three points for a win, one point for a draw and 0 points for a loss. In addition each series winner will receive an extra point. A team can win a maximum of seven points following the first two matches,
