ROSARITO.- From New York, Los Angeles, and even here in Tijuana, people from near and far are buying tickets to attend the second annual culinary festival, Sabor de Baja, presented by Chef Bo Bendana in Rosarito.
A gala of flavors just like the first time around will be returning to a new location on August 27, in the gardens of the legendary Rosarito Beach Hotel & Resort from 5 pm to 8 pm. The location will offer an incredible view of the ocean and will offer more space for visitors than last edition in order to showcase the best this region has to offer.
For those unfamiliar with the event, it consists of a pairing of wine and craft beer with regional baja med cuisine cooked by some of the best chefs in the state, including Javier Plascencia, Ryan Steyn, Drew Deckman, Erick Saenz, and Martin San Roman. The winner of the best pairing will voted on by those in attendance at the end of the night. Last year, the winner was Jose Plascencia of Tijuanas Caesars Restaurant, with a winning pairing with Madera 5 of Valle de Guadalupe.
Tickets will cost $60.00 including taxes and can be purchased at Rosarito Beach Hotel via their website or via telephone. Due to high demand, tickets will not be on sale on the day of the event, so make sure you purchase your tickets in advance in order to not miss out on this festival of flavors. Also, dont forget to wear white.
Sabor de Baja is a project which unites efforts of various municipalities to attract tourism and demonstrate the ability for growth in Rosarito. It is no longer is an ideal sleepy town for spontaneous visits, but rather a prime attraction for foreigners to come and stay and partake in many different activities in the city.
