46 Tons of Supplies Collected for Hurricane Odile Victims

Recovery Efforts have now moved past basic necessities into reconstruction phase

MEXICALI.- Baja California's government has concluded a ten day collection effort that has managed to collect 46 tons of supplies for victims of Hurricane Odile in Baja California Sur, according to Baja's General Vice Secretary, Javier Gutierrez Vidal.

"It was a total success thanks to the generous support of Baja California residents towards our neighbors to the south in the southern Baja and also those to the north in Bahia de Los Angeles and El Barril", said Vidal, who also stated that residents turned out in great numbers to support and help out those in need with basic necessities.

Vice Secretary Vidal also said that the collection centers met the goals they had set for a specific time frame, and now the necessities for victims of the hurricane are different. The Federal Government is now setting its sight on reconstructing homes.
