New jobs figures surpass goals set by the government

MEXICALI.- The Sate Administration led by Governor Francisco Vega de Lamadrid has surpassed one of its most important goals, in conjunction with various productive sectors: that of job creation in Baja California. This was demonstrated by the jobs result published today, showing that 64,755 jobs were created this year alone.

Baja California now ranks first in the country in terms of job creation, now that 18.9 sources of employment per capita have been created.

"My commitment is with Baja Californians, which is why we will continue to work in the most coordinated way possible with all levels of government, the private sector, and with all citizens; such was the case with the Employment Crusade which we embarked on and which will allow us to benefit from great results", said Governor Vega.

He indicated that the numbers come as a result of constant promotion to attract new investment to the State, which will continue to be promoted to ensure that Baja Californian families can obtain well paid jobs and improve quality of life.

Carlo Bonfante Olache, of the Secretary of Economic Development, stated that employment results are becoming apparent, and of the 64,755 jobs created and registered before the Mexican Institute of Social Security, just in September alone 17,571 were created, of which more than 12,000 are urban, and more than 5,500 are agricultural.

He also stated that of the employment generated in the month of September, 56% are permanent positions, while since January of this year 76% of the jobs created are permanent positions. Finally, he stated that they will continue to work with the same energy to close off the year with good numbers for Baja California, in terms of jobs, growth, investment, and economic development.
