Beer of the Week: Multiorgasmic Fuffylicious by Canneria

A 7% alcohol content, raspberry flavored beer

TIJUANA.- In any bar or store in the city where craft beer is sold, you may find IPA's, Porters, and Stouts from different brands, and with minor differences or peculiarities. But I have found a beer that has broken from the routine, and I found it here, at Puerco y Pintas, located on 4th Street, between Revolution Street and Madero in downtown Tijuana.

If you ask for the house beer, they will bring out a "fruit beer" made by the owner of the place, Francisco Talamante. The Multiorgasmic Fuffylicious by Canneria Brewery. Made in Ensenada with 7% alcohol content and the flavor of raspberries, this is our beer of the week.

The first thing that I found surprising about this beer, is its intense fruit flavor. The beer smells so fruity that you can smell it at arms-length distance, but you can still smell the other ingredients too. It is frothy, with a caramel tone. It looks good, it smells good, it tastes even better.

Have your ever tried the rainbow flavored ice cream at Thrifty? Probably the ice cream chain's most popular flavors, and probably one of the most iconic flavors. Well, I hope you know what I am talking about because every time I tell people to try out the fuffylicious beer, I use this flavor of ice cream to describe what it reminds me of. For me, the sweet flavor is very similar, but with added bitterness just at the end of the sip. A Subtle yet steady flavor

I can't recommend what to pair it with, but its light flavor and carbonation would make it a great option to cleanse your palate between courses, or after the meal is over. I loved this beer because of its uniqueness and because it is so versatile. Try it with an entree, like one of the pork based entrees sold at Puerco Y Pintas, or as a dessert. The Fuffylicious ale is a great option for those that are searching for new experiences with craft beer in the region.

Find it at Puerco y Pintas, everyday from 4 PM to 1:00 AM.
