Our Movie Picks for Day of the Dead and Halloween (Part 1)

From classics to newer films, here are the best movies to ring in the spirit of this weekend

From the classics to more modern movies, there is no better way to celebrate the day after Halloween than sitting in the comfort of your own home and watching a scary movies. This weekend is the best time of year to revisit the best horror flicks with your friends and family, so here are our recommendations.

Halloween III: Season Of The Witch (1982)

It would be easy to start with the first movie in the series of Halloween movies, which has become a classic, but I think Halloween III: Season Of The Witch

is one of the jewels of horror films in the series. Michael Myers doesn't star in this one, but something very interesting is portrayed: What would happen if black magic combined with technology?

Halloween III: Season Of The Witch was a breath of fresh air for the genre when it first came out, but the shado of Michael Myers kind of cast a shadow on the film.

The first, and possibly the best of the Cornetto Trilogy by Edgar Wright, Shaun Of The Dead is a sort of romantic comedy with zombies added to the mix. This is still a classic when it comes to Zombies and is a very fun movie to watch if you are in the mood for humor and gore at the same time.

    Suspiria (1977)

Directed by Dario Argento, Suspiria tells us the story of Suzie Fuhrman, a brilliant and ambitious dance student who travels to Europe to enroll in a renown school. That very night, one of the students is murdered and what follows is a series of disturbing crimes that would haunt the entire campus, leading Suzie to think that the school is not all that it was cut out to be.
