Carlos Slim is now the third wealthiest man in the world

Right behind Bill Gates and Buffet.

MEXICO. - Mexican mogul Carlos Slim is now the 3rd wealthiest man in the world, being displaced by Warren Buffet, according to financial information agency Bloomberg News.

The specialized information agency informed that the Buffet's company, Berkshire Hathaway "reached its maximum records," making its president the 2nd wealthiest man in the world this last Friday.

His firm, headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, grew up to a 27% this year due to dozens of businesses that were purchased in the last five decades gaining record profits.

Buffet's biographer, Andrew Kilpatrick, was quoted by the agency saying that: "Today's historical closure of maximum price is due to the expansion in the appreciation of what Berkshire really is: which is a fortress".

He also said that Buffet's company has 60,000 million dollars in cash, which could make "a great acquisition in any moment".

Bloomberg's article reminds us that the company's stocks were estimated at 200,000 dollars for the first time in August, after their annual report publication, since then "stocks have increased another 13%, raising Buffet's fortune to 73,700 million dollars, 300 million more than of Mexican Carlos Slim.

The article affirms that Buffet's performance in his firm makes Slim's America Movil (AMX) - which has been forced to diversify a large stock portion in order to reduce unfair participation of the telecommunications market to at least 50% to avoid punishments by the Mexican authorities -to look small in comparison.

"New rules oblige America Movil to reduce fees and share its infrastructure with its competitors", said Bloomberg.

Merely two weeks ago, Bloomberg had said that Slim's fortune reached 77,300 million dollars, while this new article puts him at 73,400 million. Forbes' portal also sets Slim in 3rd place with a 72,900 million dollar fortune, right behind Bill Gates with 81,400 million and Buffet with 74,400.
