Main plot for "Finding Dory" revealed

The sequel to "Finding Nemo" had to undergo some changes in light of SeaWorld's recent problems

UNITED STATES. - Once again Pixar, along with Disney, will submerge us in a new adventure alongside our favorite "Finding Nemo" (2003) characters, with a sequel called "Finding Dory" that will be released 13 years after the first one premiered.

This time, our sweet and forgetful Dory stars in her own film, which is set for release in June 2016, a year later than it was originally scheduled. But what will it be about? Jim Morris, Pixar's president, revealed this Tuesday a new synopsis of the project, which was originally going to tell the story of Dory and her friends inside a theme park similar to Sea World in San Diego, but has received a plot change.

Instead:

"It's set 6 months after the first film, with Dory living happily with Marlin and Nemo. After attending a class with Nemo, Dory feels homesick and starts to determine where she came from. The film will center its focus mainly on the Marine Biology Institute of California, a great sea life and rehab facility aquarium, where Dory was born and grew up. New characters are involved too, such as an octopus, sea lions, a beluga and much more".

The original idea was discarded due to the controversial response that the documentary "Blackfish" received, an essay that shows the mistreatment and abuse killer whales are exposed to in Sea World while living in captivity as a form of entertainment and exploitation.

Finding Dory will have Ellen DeGeneres as the voice of Dory once more, but we will also be able to hear Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy as our forgetful fish parents. Also staring the film is Albert Brooks (Marlin), Willem Dafoe (Gill), Domini West, Ty Burrell and Idris Elba among others who will voice our beloved characters.
