Why do we pee more during the cold?

Here's an answer to a question you might've had

WORLD.-Winter has finally arrived and in the northern part of Mexico, bodies are starting to adapt to climate change, and it so happens that when it is cold outside we pee a bit more than usual.

Here is why, when our bodies are exposed to cold weather, our sweat mechanism is limited and our organisms stop disposing fluids through perspiration. When its hot outside, we sweat as way to keep our body temperature balanced.

Normally, it is possible to dispose excess bodily fluids through sweat and urine. So if sweat is not an option, our kidneys get a signal, and produce urine. However, this is not the only reason we go to the bathroom non-stop; constant shivering due to cold that creates muscle contraction also makes us run to the W.C every now and then.

This contraction stimulates other body parts, among them our bladder, which is a hollow organ that stores urine, located in the lower part of our abdomen.

It may be a bit annoying having to go and pee every so often, but we should always listen to our bodies, otherwise we could develop an urinary infection or even pelvic tumors.

The best thing we can do is cover ourselves up, keep drinking 2 liters of water per day and attend to nature's calling until summer comes back and we have different option for fluid release.
