Governor Kiko Vega Congratulates Baja's Ministerial Police Graduates

He also acknowledged the work of the CENFOCAP teachers

TECATE.- Today, Baja California Governor Francisco "Kiko" Vega de Lamadrid, lead the Graduation Ceremony of the seventy seven cadets of Tijuana's XVIII Generation of the Ministerial Police Group and the XXVI Generation of Municipal Policemen, to whom he encouraged to comply with their duty, by efficiently sticking to the values of respect, ethics, and morality.

He also said that state and municipal authorities are aware of the challenges that Baja California faces regarding crime and safety, and in that manner he informed that several professionalization and crime prevention strategies have been implemented.

"With this professionalization Baja California continues to become a national role model in the manner of quality preparation, certification and police activity, which is a very important part to obtain good outcomes regarding security," he pointed out.

Vega mentioned that the agents' academic training was thanks to a 5,300,00 pesos (366,000.00 USD) public investment and that during this current administration, funding has increased for upgrading police corps communication, monitoring and quick response systems.

During the ceremonial act, where graduate certificates were given out and badges were placed, Vega de Lamadrid congratulated the graduates, as well as their families, given that they were the fundamental pieces during their academic formation.

On his behalf, the State Secretary for Public Safety (SSPE, in Spanish), Daniel de la Rosa Anaya, encouraged the new law enforcement members to ensure citizen's peace of mind, enforcing the law and guarantying a full respect of human rights.

"Preparation and knowledge doesn't stop here, permanent training is an element that has characterized our agents at the national level, and so that is why Governor Francisco Vega de Lamadrid has encouraged a constant upgrade, that will allow us to have men and women who are each time more prepared in security institutions and law enforcement," he pointed out.

Likewise, he thanked and acknowledged the teachers and trainers of the Police Formation and Training Center (CENFOCAP, in Spanish), who take on the important mission of defining the maximum reach of each the cadets capabilities.

Finally, the State's Attorney General (PGJE, in Spanish), Perla del Socorro Ibarra Leyva, added that the State's Government Strategic Plan is considered as a priority for the professionalization and strengthening of Baja California's police corporations, and that is why the PGJE has prepared staff that will contain a more effective, reliable and transparent police group.
