Netflix is Making a Live Action Series of "The Legend of Zelda"

There aren't many details out yet, but Netflix's has categorized it as a family friendly "Game of Thrones"

One of my best childhood memories is having stumbled upon a "Kokiri Sword" at the beginning of "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time", defeating "King Dodongo", fighting my dark side in the famous yet hated by many, "Water Temple" and being able to save Princess Zelda from the hands of Ganodorf at the end of the game.

Ever since, I wanted a movie or a live version of this game, because…to be honest, I was never much of a fan of the 90s anime versions based on NES games. Now, it seems to be that the wait is finally over, since Netflix is currently in the works for a series.

According to Speakeasy, Netflix categorizes this future series as a family friendly "Game of Thrones". And as expected, due to the way the game is made, the series may contain elements similar to "Lord of the Rings" or "The Hobbit", to give its childish and colorful appearance.

It's said that Netflix is working very close with Nintendo, the Japanese company that has been created these games since 1987 (in the US).

Although the company is still looking for a writer, Netflix still has a long way to go before a series of "The Legend of Zelda" comes to life, due to the fact that Nintendo is usually very protective of their intellectual property and company directives are very "old school".

Another matter that hasn't been taken into account is that there are over 20 franchise games,so the question is: Which of all the games will the series be based on? Or will it be a totally new different story using classic game elements.

For the moment, neither Netflix nor Nintendo has commented on subject.
