Valentine's Day Special: Love and Sports (Part 2)

Feelings vs. endurance

When talking about love and sports, we can't leave out the current Super Bowl champ, Tom Brady. The New England Patriots quarterback who has obtained the title as Most Valuable Player of the NFL for the 4th time is married to one of the best payed models in the fashion industry. Tom Brady and Giselle Bündchen got married in 2009, the same year she gave birth to their first child, and three years later, the Brazilian model gave birth to a little girl.

The NFL player and the former Victoria's Secret Angel have been categorized as the most solid and powerful couple in the sport's world, given that they have managed to maintain their relationship against all odds, due to the fact that when they started dating in 2006, Giselle was blamed for Brady's poor performance on the field. As time went by, they are both now at a golden stage in their relationship, the kiss that was seen upon 115,000,000 spectators in Arizona a few weeks ago is proof of their non ending love.

Unfortunately,Dallas Cowboys' quarterback Tony Romo wasn't that lucky. The four times elected Pro-Bowl player was in a three year relationship with pop singer Jessica Simpson. They met a year after Simpson starred in "The Dukes of Hazzard" and it was in 2009 --a day before the Texan singer's birthday-- that Romo called it quits.

Everything happened so quickly between them, proof of that is Jessica and the NFL player had their first kiss within the first 10 minutes of their first date. Then, their families met, they took a trip to Mexico in 2008 to celebrate Valentine's Day and they were planning a wedding that never happened.

The causes of their breakup are still unclear, but is known that Simpson, much like Bündchen was blamed for Romo's poor performance, and there were some fans that assured that the singer distracted the quarterback and as a consequence the team lost. So... up to what point is it valid to say that love is directly linked with sports endurance?
