Valentine's Day Special: Love and Sports (Part 3)

In soccer and in love?

There are some some who can't stand the idea of spending their Sunday afternoon watching a 90 minute soccer game, and don't have any interest in being up to date with the different tournaments that take place year-round. This perspective of blaming this sport for one's significant other's lack of attention takes on a whole new meaning when every four years the World Cup comes along, and out of nowhere a love for soccer manifests itself, making some women so passionate about it, they even wear their "team's" T-shirt.

Luckily, for some there are those who do actually understand this sport, and support their partners feeling very proud while wearing the t-shirt of the team to which they belong. A clear example of this is Jaydy Michel, who has been crown for 8 years as the number one fan of her current husband, Mexican soccer player Rafa Márquez.

The couple chose the Puerto Vallarta scenery to get hitched on 2011, where they both wore white. They both have children from previous marriages, although this has never created a conflict between them. The Mexico's Next Top Model host has mentioned that she would like to have more children but the stork hasn't knocked on their door yet.

The current forward for Hellas Verona assures that with passion and dedication you can achieve professional and emotional success. Marquez and Michel aren't afraid to show their love to the world and they are constantly uploading pictures of them in social media. The solid couple uses #MiAmor (My love) in every post.

It's well said that we shouldn't mix business with pleasure, but apparently for Marco Fabian this rule doesn't apply. The midfielder has a relationship with actress Ana Bekoa for a bit more than a year, ending up with a lawsuit on behalf of his ex for $143,000 ($9,600dlls) that she loaned him.

Their breakup was due to an alleged infidelity on behalf of the soccer player, although Fabian stated that Bekoa wanted to get married and he felt he was just too young for it. Whichever the cause of there separation, they still have their legal matter waiting to be resolved.

It seem to be that Cupid's arrows between athletes and women's in entertainment are so common that we could even see it as a requirement for anyone who is in this business to capture an athlete's heart at some point.
