Valentine's Day Special: Love and Sports (Part 5)

The TV Sports Girl and her love affairs

In sports, it's easier to recognize a male icon than a women, however there are some who have managed to shine on in this world mostly ruled by men. Marisol González is one of them. The Mexican journalist is called "Televisa's Sports Girl", a title she has owned thanks to dedication and perseverance.

The Torreón city native had a roller coaster relationship with boxer Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez, which came to a definitive end in 2012. Their problems started when Marisol appeared in soap operas while at the same she was still a sports correspondent. Distance and busy schedules were the main ingredients that led to speculations.

The aggressive and absurd jealousy on behalf of the boxer, ended with the model's patience and after their breakup she stated that she finally felt peaceful. González swears to have given it all, but she says that it is healthier to accept when something is over and she wishes Canelo the best.

However, it was just few months later when this pageant winner beauty fell under the love spell again. Soon after their first date with soccer player, Rafa Márquez Lugo, Cupid sent arrows flying. After two years of dating, and in spite of the rumors of a possible breakup, the couple decided to get married.

Through Twitter, they thanked everyone who attended the ceremony, where Marisol had three different wedding gowns, even though she was four months pregnant she looked stunning. The couple's first daughter was born this past 2014 and they couldn't be happier.
