MADRID, SPAIN.- Google announced this Tuesday that starting March 23rd they will prohibit any shared sexual content through their platform Blogger.
The update in their policies forbids sexually explicit content, while nudity will still be permitted if it offers a public benefit given that it fits an artistic, educative, documentary or scientific profile.
In case the users are owners of this type of content they will have until this date to take it down from the site, otherwise it will turn private and it will only be available by the administrator and the people he or she shares files with.
The Association of Internet Users (AI) considered this action as a blow against freedom of expression and criticized Google's privacy policy change.
The subject has generated dissatisfaction among the blogger community launching critics to Google's new measures through their Twitter accounts. "Censoring this content is contrary to a service based on liberty of expression", wrote Violet Blue, creator of a human sexuality blog.
