Tijuana's Mayor and Baja Governor Inaugurate New Big Screen In Downtown

At the Revolution Avenue Archway

TIJUANA.- The emblematic arch that is located on Tijuana's Downtown Revolution Avenue, used to have a useless "clock" hanging from it, until yesterday. Thanks to the City of Tijuana and Samsung, this monument now has a new high-tech screen, which was sponsored by the Korean company.

The event took place just below the arch and its attendees were able to enjoy the music of local alternative rock band "Ramona", who played for more than half an hour.

Tijuana's Mayor, Jorge Astiazarán, thanked Samsung for its support towards the city, by sponsoring a screen which is now part of the arch. Mayor Astiazarán stated that it's up to the citizens of the city to preserve public spaces and that if we all work together we can achieve so much more.

State Governor, Francisco "Kiko" Vega de Lamadrid, showed his enthusiasm and mentioned that it's not "Kiko's screen" but of all the people of Tijuana, and himself being one of them mentioned that he feels very proud. Vega de Lamadrid said that Baja California is a great State that keeps on growing as well as its people, "Baja California is big as so are we", he expressed with much exhilaration. Vega was the mayor of Tijuana who approved the construction of the then (and still is) controversial arch.
