Playas de Tijuana Festival 2015 Has Scheduled Their Agenda

The City presented the event´s activities

TIJUANA.- In order to promote tourism and family bonding in the manner of belonging as a citizen, the City government presented an activities calendar for the Playas de Tijuana Festival 2015, which will take place from March 19th to 22nd in different meeting point of the area.

During the press conference, chief of Playas de Tijuana's Demarcation Office, Martina Montenegro Espinoza, pointed out that making these recreative events possible promote family values and culture.

"The Mayor's interest, is to give a follow up to the acction that position this administration as one of the best places for recreation, through the community's participation in said events," said the official.

Montenegro Espinoza also pointed out that the Playas de Tijuana Festival 2015 will take place alongisde the coordination of the City's Institute of Art and Culture (IMAC), having activities such as danzon presentations, exhibits and photography constests, parades, music concerts, sports, skirmish fairs and a bohemian night, among others.

The events will start on Thursday, March 19th with the State Danzon Encounter in the Los Arcos roon of Casa de la Cultura Playas, afterwards the photographic exhibit of "Playas a través de lente" (Playas through the looking glass) will be ignaugurated at the Álvarez Malo gallery.

On Friday, there will be a parade in honor of the arrival of Spring, that will start at Parque México and end at Casa de la Cultura Playas. The Bohemian Night will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Starting at 8:00 a.m., on Saturday, the event Salvemos la Playas (Lets Save the Beach) will begin, which purpose is to clean the dock as much as possible. In the afternoon, the Skirmish Fair will take place at the Lienzo Charro of Cortijo San José. Once night falls music group Sentenciados and Defensa Norteña will liven up the audience with their music.

Finally on Sunday, the City's Institute for Sports (Imdet), will organize a race "Por una Tijuana Mejor" (For A Better Tijuana), along the Avenida del Pacífico. Parque México will have a classic car's exhibit, and in the afternoon the photographs of Omar Martínez will be showing "Una Ventana al Pacífico".

IMAC's director, Jesús Flores Campbell, invited the citizens to participated in the Festival which has an extensive activity program, having

as purpose attrac more visitors of the border and the region itself in order to continue giving a positive image to the city. The festival is expecting an attendace of over 5,000 people.
