Baja Starts "Restauración Comunitaria" Program For San Quintín

Small businesses will receive funding to overcome its current conflict

SAN QUINTÍN.- Baja Governor Francisco "Kiko" Vega de Lamadrid instructed the Secretariat of Economic Development (SEDECO) to implement immediate actions that will reinforce the support to micro, small and medium sized businesses (MiPyME), family businesses and temporary employment with the purpose of helping San Quintin's economy and compensate for any damage from the current conflict in the region.

The Secretary of Economic Development, Carlo Bonfante Olache, explained that in order to help normalize commercial activities, several emerging programs have been activated while at the same time they will actively promote other programs that are already in progress.

One of the strategies for this implementation is the active promotion of "Crédito Emprendedor" (Entreprenuership Credit) which has a budget of $5,000,000 pesos ($330,00dlls) for San Quintin's MiPyMe, giving them funding for business that can function in a normal manner up to 6 months, with amounts of $20,000 to $300,000 pesos ($1,330 to $20,000dlls) and 6% annual interest rates.

Another program to help out San Quintin is the "Restauracion Comunitaria" (Community Restoration) program which begins today and through which $500,000 pesos ($33,500dlls) will be channeled by the Temporary Employment Program, in order for the residents to contribute to the restoration of affected business, as well as cleaning and improving commentary space that are damaged.

Bonafante Olache pointed out that through the two Entrepreneurial Resource Centers in the area intensive support session will take place, visiting the affected businesses, making diagnosis of the damages and needs as well as integrating the application for current support programs.
