Afterwards, when heavy rains cause a pre-state of emergency in the region some weeks ago, a rescue operation took place for those who lived along the canal, evacuating over 500 people who received shelter, food and clothing for a night while the situation unraveled.

"There have been a lot of rumors, allegedly these people disappeared; but in reality, we have 587 people admitted in 15 rehabilitation centers that work with the City, all monitored by the Secretary of Health", said the Mayor.

In the same matter, in order to continue with this program strategy, it was determined that federal agencies such as the Secretaries of the Health and Social Development, the National Water Commission (Conagua) and the Federal Police, among others, will present their own strategies to determine their collaboration.

Lastly, Mayor Astiazarán listened and attended the doubts and suggestions of the members of Madrugadores de Tijuana, regarding the public policies that the government has developed within the local administration for social development, health and public security.
