ROSARITO.- Spring Break is just around the corner (or already ongoing) and we all deserve a break. You might be on a budget, but that isn't reason enough for you to miss out on the fun, and here in Baja there are many things you can do.

Our suggestion for the day is to go visit Rosarito, a young city with a lot of potential that has grown little by little, capturing the eye of any local and foreign tourist who dare to explore this beach-side town.

If you think that the only thing you can do in Rosarito is just lay under a sunny sky and sandy beach, we will like to give you options so you can make the most of your next visit. Always remember to plan ahead and take into account the following traveling tips:

If you're traveling with children, don't leave them out of sight Avoid swimming in rocky areas or cliffs Make sure you make reservations at a hotel that is close to the place you plan to visit Locate (even if it's with your sight) your nearest lifeguard Do not enter the water with everyday clothes, in case of an accident these type of clothing will make you heavier Always keep in hand emergency numbers… but it's time to relax, so don't stress about it by thinking the worst.

Make reservations with an ocean view room:

Or better yet, camp out at the beach. At night you can walk along the dock, watch the stars and enjoy a performance by a local artist. However, if you're bringing personal and valuable belongings, staying at a hotel is your best option, or leave most of your belongings in your room (just like any other place in the world, honestly).

If you like going to the beach but aren't very big on swimming, Rosarito Ocean Sports has different activities such as boat rides, surfing a jet skies. Try the authentic Tacos Perrones:

They may be a lot of this type of tacos, but they're originally from Rosarito. Discover the flavors of the region. Promising that you will fall in love at first bite, you can find these tacos at "El Yaqui". Here is a picture, so you can start falling in love with them:

Buy souvenirs at the Crafts Market

Alebrijes, piggy banks, embroidered and knitted clothing, clay pieces and many other things filled with color and Mexican folklore, originally from the state of Oaxaca is what you can find at the Crafts Market for a very affordable price. If you're looking for something more thorough you can always buy silver jewelry. There is nothing that can compare to Mexican handcrafting. Take a walk in Puerto Nuevo

This small fishing villa is home to some of the best lobster in the world. Affordable and delicious, here you will find many crafted treasures, history and a view worth enjoying a beer with.
