The City of Tijuana had a Cleaning Day

Over 7,860 publicity ads were taken down and 695 trees were planted

TIJUANA.- One of the main priorities of the City of Tijuana is to reinforce maintenance and cleaning actions, which is why they had a "Tijuana Verde y Limpia"

(Tijuana Clean and Green) cleaning day, on which over 1,800 citizens participated by removing trash from 35 kilometers of road throughout the city.

The Direction of City Public Services (DSPM), informed that by order of the city's mayor, Dr. Jorge Astiazarán Orcí, work crews composed by government staff, civil associations, schools and residents from different areas participated in the cleaning and rehabilitation of main avenues, parks and common use spaces, this past weekend.

As a result, paint was applied on 8,400 square feet of walls and fences, in order to remove the graffiti from vandalized areas.

Complementary to these actions, work teams spread out onto roads, sidewalks and main avenues to remove waste and rubble from 35 lineal kilometers.

During this work day, 7,860 publicity ads of different materials that were place illegally were taken down. Lastly, 695 trees were planted for the improvement of the streets forestation.

In total 33 areas of the city's nine delegations were restored, as well as 3 parks that required maintenance.

The City of Tijuana urges the citizenship to collaborate in the improvement of the city's conditions,

by avoiding damage to spaces used by families while doing recreational activities, and throwing trash in designated areas.
