Tea Spot: A Place In Tijuana Where You'll Learn To Enjoy Tea

In Mexican culture, tea is directly linked with healing

Tea Spot has a purpose, and that purpose is creating a culture and appreciation for tea in Tijuana. In Mexico, tea is mostly limited as a drink for healing upset stomachs, headaches and calming the nerves, but Tea Spot seeks to change this point of view, or at least add to it. Without leaving behind all the benefits tea may have, this place wants people to know how this drink can also be enjoyed.

Aside from enjoying a delicious cup of tea, the purpose of Tea Spot is to show its customers the different ways you can prepare this beverage at home as well as the different flavors you can obtain from it. This is why, each month they have free tastings where you can enjoy from five to six brews. The only requirement you need to participate in the tastings, is RSVP through their Facebook page, where they post their promos and interesting tea facts.

How much can you learn from a tea tasting? Tea Spot doesn't just offer the simple idea of sitting down and tasting aromatic and flavorful drinks. They also provide a detailed explanation of each tea's origin, the type of soil it comes from, its proper temperature and the preparation each type of tea has in order to create a real flavor.

This tea house, also offers products such as Tisana which in French means herbal brew.

Tisana is a mixture of flowers, herbs and plants that don't come from tea. Since it's made from natural elements, it's caffeine free, making it perfect for children and pregnant women. This drink has gained a lot of popularity in recent years and all over the world, with "Passion Fruit Tea" being a prime example, as it's not really a tea, but actually a brew that contains hibiscus, giving it color.

For those who don't consider themselves tea lovers, you can have a frappé or a refreshing Italian soda. To accompany your drink, you can choose from the wide variety of salty dishes or sweet desserts. From croissant, to flavored macaroons. Tea Spot's menu has many options.

Tea Spot is a pioneering proposal for a city that has managed to become a provider for many coffee shops and businesses, given their expertise in tea brewing.
