Tacos Kokopelli in Tijuana Removes Ingredients In Support of Striking Farm Workers In Baja

A taco and other ingredients come from San Quintín

Kokopelli, the sea food tacos franchise has decided to show its solidarity in light of the farmer's strike in the San Quintín Valley.

Through their Facebook page, they announced that their taco called "black harder" (Negro Durazo) will no longer be part of their menu until the farmers work conditions are improved, or their demands are met.

"We can't be 100% consistent with the purchase of our inputs, we also can't be indifferent and pretend like we don't care about the conditions on which our recipes are made, especially in the San Quintín Valley. The value of our actions and the intentions of those who prepare our meals is as important as the farmer who selects the crops we will eventually eat. Starting today, we will like to show our solidarity towards the field workers with all our hearts, " expressed Tacos Kokopelli this morning.

The taco that was removed from Kokopelli's menu called Negro Durazo (in Spanish), was a holistic Emperor Penguin fin cebiche. Ironically, "black harder" is a reference to a corrupt character from the 70s, which represents Mexico's corrupt and ill past, however, it's the most recommended taco after a night of partying.
