Jeb Bush Identifies Himself as "Hispanic" on Voter Registration Form

If he runs for President of the United States, will he be able to count on the Latin vote?

UNITED STATES.- Even though he's white and from the Republican Party, Jeb Bush sees himself as Hispanic, according to his voter's registration form from 2009 which was published today on The New York Times.

On this ballot, George W. Bush's younger sibling marks the Hispanic box identifying himself as a member of this ethnicity, regardless of the fact that both his parents are white Americans and was born in the States.

Maybe this is because he was born in Texas, a state that until 1836 belonged to Mexico. Or perhaps he thinks it is because he speaks Spanish fluently or because his wife, Columba Bush, was born on Mexican land and her parents are Mexican as well.

Furthermore, Jeb Bush's relationship with Latin America doesn't end there, as he also spent two years in Venezuela and has fought for immigrants who cross the border for many years, in order to improve the quality of life of their families:

"They way I see it, and I'm going to say it so it's recorded, is that when someone arrives in our country without being able to do it legally, (…) comes because a father who loves his children is worried that they don't have enough food on the table and wants to make sure his family remains intact. Yes, they broke the law, but is not major crime. It's an act of love. It's an act of commitment towards their family" said Bush last year.

Still, Jeb Bush who is a possible candidate for the United States Presidency of 2016, identifying himself as Hispanic has made him a target for mockery among social media who have pointed out non stop how "white" or American the former Governor of Florida is. Suddenly, this revelation raised the apparent "mispronunciation of his name", making a reference of how the name "Jeb" would be pronounce if it was a Latin name.
