Some Foods Can Reduce Your Intellectual Capacity

Sweets and chocolate to name a few

WORLD.- The never ending search for a healthy body has led us to find a great variety of food products. Some of them help us loose weight or stimulate our organism, others can make us sick and even reduce our body's capabilities.

It's no secret that having a balanced diet is the way to go, which is why here are some foods that eaten in excess may reduce your intellectual capacity, such as:

Foods with high sugar contents: In the long term, it has been proven that these types of food can cause memory problems, as well as neurological disorders. An excessive intake can reduce attention spans and the ability of learning in children as well as in adults.

Junk food: It not only modifies our brain chemistry, but it also causes depression, according to studies from the University of Montreal. Dopamine, a substance in charge of boosting happiness and giving our body the sensation of well-being, is worn out due to this intake.

Salt: Aside from affecting our blood pressure it also affects our heart. Recent studies show that salty food has a major impact in our ability to think in rational and logical manner.

Processed proteins: On multiple occasions we've heard that in order for us to be healthy we need protein, such as white and red meat. However, we should try and avoid protein originated from sausages and salamis, given that they contract our nervous system and create anxiety, and they even increase mental fatigue.

Artificial sweeteners: Although we have Splenda, Stevia and Equal as alternatives to not gain weight, as well as to reduce our blood sugar levels, the negative side of these substitutes is that they supposedly eventually damage our brains, interfering with our cognitive ability resulting in severe consequences.

Stress caused by work, school and home activities alongside a bad nutrition due to always being in a hurry, have a major impact in our health, which is why we invite you to smile and try to maintain a balance meal so this way you can enjoy a health lifestyle.
