Lúmina Foto-Café is the result of two photographers (professional and amateur) who decided to mix their lives biggest passions: art, photography and coffee.

Liliana Hueso and Zoila Avilés have a unique conviction towards the capabilities of art, believing that it can actually change people's way of being. This is why they choose to combine the things they love inside a nice and pleasant space located in the heart of Playas de Tijuana.

Books, board games, a kid's area, a colorful garden and a delicious menu are some of the things you will find at Foto-Café. Based on her experience as a professional photographer, Liliana Hueso created a space for all those who are getting started along the same path but don't have the necessary equipment to do so. Lúmina has a room equipped with lights as a functioning studio and a meeting room they sometimes rent out for workshops.

Regarding its décor, the minute you set foot in it you can feel an instant warmth, which makes eating your salad or simply reading a book way more comfortable. Each month, a different photographer exhibits his or her work along the walls, as well as local artist put up some of their paintings.

Lúmina is a space committed to its community and the environment, using only plastic biodegradable glasses, it has taken on the task of reforesting the green areas surrounding it. On other subjects, they are proudly part of the "Pending Coffee" initiative, which consists in leaving a paid coffee that is later given out to someone living on street. At the time being, 400 coffees had been given out as well as empanadas on the house.
