SAN DIEGO.- The seventh annual Miracle Babies 5k will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Embarcadero Marina Park South (MAP), with registration beginning at 7:00 a.m. The event includes a timed 5K run at 8:00 a.m. followed by a family friendly 5K walk at 9:00 a.m. This year our theme is Superhero's, show your spirit by dressing up as your favorite hero! No matter if it's Superman, Wonder Woman, Police Officer, Firefighter, Soldier or even as your favorite Doctor, all heroes are welcome!

Following the walk, participants and spectators will enjoy food, drinks, kids’ activities including a Kid Zone and a Celebration of Life Fair! Strollers are welcomed and encouraged. Day of festivities will include an infant diaper dash and kids’ obstacle courses! Other fundraising incentives can be found at www.miraclebabies5k.com.

Registration fee for WALKERS is $20 for adults and FREE for children under 12, RUNNERS fee is $25 for adults and $10 for children under 12. Participants may register at www.miraclebabies5k.com or on location, the day of the event.

Miracle Babies provides education, support, and financial assistance to families with newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Miracle Babies, founded by Dr. Sean Daneshmand and based in San Diego, is a non-profit organization structured to provide support and financial assistance to families with critically ill newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; and to enhance the well-being of women, children and their families through education, prevention and medical care.

Approximately 11.5% of live births in the United States result in a premature birth. Through the efforts of our volunteers, many of whom are themselves the parents of premature newborns, and your donations of time and/or financial support, we raise funds to provide assistance to these families whose lives have been turned upside down while caring for their preemie or sick newborn.
