Hard Workout Session? Have A Beer, It's For You!

Study reveals that beer is better than protein shakes

Have you ever gotten home after working out just to find yourself craving an ice-cold beer, but felt guilty about it? Stop worrying because it appears to be that beer is even better than a protein shake.

Charlie Bamforth, professor of Brewing Science at the University of California mentioned that, when taken with moderation, beer contains nutrients such as selenium (antioxidants), vitamin B and phosphorus (helps bone strengthening); also, it helps to lower our cholesterol. According to some sources, beer contains high levels of protein as well as a bit of fiber and silicium, which help us prevent osteoporosis.

And if that isn't a great reason to keep drinking beer, other studies assure that it reduces stress and keeps our muscles in shape. Bamforth stated that beer as well as wine contains many antioxidants, making them easily absorbed by our bodies.

Furthermore, if you're worried about gaining back all of the calories you just burned, you can throw that feeling out the window. In this case, beer acts as a small meal, similar to what protein shakes do. The less alcohol the beer has, the less calories you will consume.

In the end, moderation is key. So next time you have a big old hankering for beer after working out, you can do it guilt free.
