Uber Responds To Taxi Drivers Incident in Tijuana: "We all have the right to choose how we move around"

Regarding yesterday's incident between two taxi drivers and a Uber unit

TIJUANA.- Uber, the private transportation company, has made a public comment regarding the altercation that took place yesterday between two taxi drivers and a service associate, who was carrying two passengers:

"Every citizen of Tijuana has the right of choosing they way they move around throughout the city. Here at Uber, we work to provide safe and reliable options for private transportation. The last thing Tijuana needs is violence."

They also added that after the incident, they got in contact with the driver (who they called 'associate') and passengers of the Uber unit, they've all reported to be O.K. One of the passengers was responsible for uploading the altercation video to YouTube.

The incident took place in front of Plaza Americana, Otay, and even though this is the first time this has ever happen in Tijuana, this is just one more confrontation among taxi drivers and this new way of transportation.
