Admission is free

TIJUANA.- Renown Mexican painter, Frida Kahlo, was also the author and model for the upcoming art exhibit that will be featured at Centro Cultural Tijuana (CECUT), titled 'Frida Kahlo: Sus Fotos' in o honor of her self titled book and recompilation by Pablo Ortiz Monasterio, which gathers photographs from the artist's persona archive.

Here we will see some of Frida's portraits, family pictures, renown artist and some 'selfies' she took in order to capture the passion, friendships and most significative moments of her life.

Her father, Guillermo Kahlo, was a professional photographer, which is why her house was never without a camera or picture. Although the exhibit will only show 200 pieces, it's estimated that there are around 6,500 images, where the work of renown photographers such as Man Ray, Martin Munkácsi, Fritz Henle, Edward Weston, Brassaï, Tina Modotti and Pierre Verger are featured.

Previously, 'Frida Kahlo: Sus Fotos' was shown at the famous Casa Azul de Coyoacán, where Frida and Diego Rivera spent most of their tragic married life.

Inauguration day will take place on Friday, June 12, at El Cubo, Sala 1 starting at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free.
