It was created by a Mexican student

Your kids want an popsicle for dessert? Now you can give them one and rest assured that is good for their health, given that a lollipop that helps prevent anemia has been created by a Mexican student.

Noemí Valdivia Martínez, student from the Amecameca University Center at Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM), developed an ice pop that prevents the presence of iron-deficiency anemia, which mostly attacks children.

The ice pop is made from vegetable pulp and fruit juice, given that the combination of iron with vitamin C helps to steady blood mineral, preventing iron deficiency.

This innovative dessert won Valdivia third place at the 'New Products Development' contest, organized by the National Congress of the Mexican Association of Faculty Members and Nutrition Schools (AMMFEN), which took place in Cancun, Quintana Roo.

Valdivia stated that this type of anemia is commonly presented among children between 5 and 11 years of age, an age range in which some infants do not consume enough vegetables. The popsicle is design to be children appealing while at the same time is beneficial.

While some children do enjoy eating their greens, others have trouble having their daily intake, this is a new option that could revolutionize they way everyone eats their veggies.
