Enrique Iglesias slices fingers with drone in Tijuana

Singer recuperating after stunt during concert

TIJUANA.- Singer, songwriter and now drone-daredevil Enrique Iglesias is recuperating in Los Angeles today after suffering a pretty nasty slice from a concert drone during a show in Mexico last night.

VIDEO: The Tijuana Enrique Iglesias Fan Club captured the drone mishap on video

At the Tijuana, Mexico stop of his "Sex and Love" world tour, the Spanish star opted to grab drone that was flying just above him and being used to record the concert, something his representative says he does from time to time.

"During the show a drone is used to get crowd shots and some nights Enrique grabs the drone to give the audience a Point of View shot. Something went wrong and he had an accident," a statement from his representative read, according to the AP. "He decided to go on and continued playing for 30 minutes while the bleeding continued throughout the show."

He seemed to have grabbed the drone all-right at first, but then couldn't quite figure out how to turn its camera back on him (vanity, his main weakness?). That is when his left-hand fingers got in the way of a propeller from the drone.

He quickly ran backstage for some gauze it seems and continued the show for 30 more minutes, even using his dripping blood to draw a heart on his shirt. And fans ate it up on social media:

The statement from his camp confirmed he is still in L.A. recuperating and was seen by a "specialist." There shouldn't be any more complications. Here's a photo of Iglesias' girlfriend, Anna Kournikova, with him in the ambulance after the concert:
