Tijuana Has What It Takes To Become A Technological Hub

The city has many resources that need to be exploited

What was once Tijuana's Touristic Terminal, has now been turned into a place where international companies meet in order to develop ideas that with the help of technology will help the city detach from a negative image.

Tijuana is known worldwide by the phrase 'Tequila, Sex & Marijuana', and in 2010 with a violence wave hitting the city, Tijuana was rated as a dangerous place that you most likely would wan to avoid. Residents know things have changed, their real challenge is making the rest of the world aware of this.

Miguel Buenrostro a citizen who was out of town but recently came back, couldn't stand the idea of seeing some many closed up businesses in Downtown Tijuana. With much effort and thankful collaborations he has been able to create HUBSTN (Hub Station), getting represented by international companies such as Uber and Yelp.

Yes, food and craft beer have really lifted the city spirits, but that's not all Tijuana is about. Buenrostro wanted to take advantage of Tijuana's up and coming technology which is why he created a space where anyone who wants to create or provide a service can be provided with orientation.

One of the benefits of HUBSTN is its location, given that is close to the border, this provides a window of opportunity for potential clients who would want to invest in future businesses.

A year after its opening, HUSTN seeks to inspire others to reactivate places that can be used by entrepreneurs in different areas, all with the sole purpose of changing Tijuana's history.
